Nikki Duncan, Ed. D. has over 25 years of experience within human resources, career services, and training and development. Dr. Duncan has worked in corporate, non-profit, public secondary education and higher education. She specializes in recruitment, career coaching, talent development, performance management, and employee engagement.
Dr. Duncan joined the University of Houston in 2014 as a Sr. Employment Representative. She was promoted to the manager of Talent Acquisition in 2020 and is now the Director of Talent Acquisition and Development. In her current role, her responsibilities include leading teams of Sr. Recruiters to attract top talent for all staff open positions at the University of Houston and Sr. Trainers to conduct professional development at all levels to help grow and retain staff. She is also an active member of the Black Leadership Network (BLN) and is the Scholarship Chair where they award deserving students scholarships each year.
Dr. Duncan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Houston, a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s in Education- Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Duncan is an active contributor towards student success by participating in activities that assist the student to develop life long career development skills such as resume writing and interviewing. She is constantly on the move giving workshops on how to write resumes that will pass the ATS, interviewing skills, and networking. She is also the proud wife of one of TSU’s finest, Dr. Clyde E. Duncan, Jr.
