Comm Week hosted by the School of Communication (SOC) at Texas Southern University is a fast-paced academic symposium that brings together leading innovators in the media, music, and film industries. During this five-day event, renowned journalists, entrepreneurs, content creators, influencers, scholars, and television and radio personalities share their real-world knowledge and perspectives with participants.    

  • To bring together students, scholars, researchers, government representatives, businesses, and communities to share their knowledge, expertise, and perspectives on selected themes with the university community and the larger public audience.
  • To promote understanding within the university and the global community worldwide.
  • To bring public awareness to the significance of the current media trends throughout the world.
  • To recognize the impact of media and the leading role it plays.

Comm Week is held annually during the spring semester at the Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Humanities Center on 3100 Cleburne St, Houston, TX 77004 .

Comm Week is completely free and open to college students and to the public.   

Participation varies from paper-presentation, sponsorship, and volunteering, partnering or other collaborative engagements.
